'국제' 차원은 지정학(Geopolitics)·지경학(Geoeconomics)적 관점에서 강대국 경쟁, 세력 균형, 무역·에너지 공급망 등 글로벌 구조를 분석합니다. '지역' 차원은 단순한 지리적 구분을 넘어 각 지역의 역사·문화·제도·언어적 맥락을 심층적으로 이해하는 도메인 지식을 의미합니다. '전략' 차원은 국가·기업·국제기구 등 다양한 행위자가 주어진 환경에서 목표를 달성하기 위한 수단을 체계적으로 선택·실행하는 과정을 연구합니다.

'The International dimension examines global structures through geopolitical and geoeconomic perspectives, focusing on great power competition, balance of power, and trade and energy supply chains. The Regional dimension goes beyond geographic boundaries to provide in-depth domain knowledge of each region's historical, cultural, institutional, and linguistic contexts. The Strategic dimension studies how various actors—such as states, corporations, and international organizations—systematically select and implement policy instruments to achieve their objectives within given environments.

학과에서는 크게 이론과 실무의 두 영역을 균형 있게 학습합니다. 이론 측면에서는 국제지역통상 트렌드의 이해, 전략 분석 방법론, 비교경제시스템 연구를 필수로 이수하며, 공급망 관리·디지털 경제·국제통상협상·해운항만물류·글로벌 초국적 협력 등 다양한 선택과목을 통해 분야별 전문성을 심화합니다. 실무 측면에서는 KOTRA 출신 실무 교수진의 현장 강의, 전현직 대사·지역 전문가의 외교전략 특강시리즈, 해외 현지 조사 등을 통해 이론과 실제의 간극을 최소화합니다. 나아가 포괄적 안보·상대적 이익·복잡성 이론 등 분석 도구를 활용하여 국제정치 현안을 다층적으로 진단하고 정책적 함의를 도출하는 역량을 갖추게 됩니다.

The program offers a balanced curriculum of theory and practice. Core courses cover international and regional trade trends, strategic analysis methods, and comparative economic systems, with electives such as supply chain management, digital economy, trade negotiations, maritime logistics, and global cooperation. On the practical side, students engage in field-based lectures by former KOTRA experts, special talks by diplomats and regional specialists, and overseas research. Using analytical frameworks such as comprehensive security, relative gains, and complexity theory, students may develop the ability to assess global issues and derive policy implications. Most courses will be taught mainly in Korean and partially in English. Therefore, international applicants must possess advanced Korean language proficiency; a TOPIK Level 5 or higher (or equivalent certification) is strongly recommended.
